Manic Miner (a) - ZX Spectrum

Manic Miner is a colossus on the 8 -bit gaming world. Matthew Smith's platformer masterpiece. Released in 1983, it blew everything that came before it away. As Matthew himself admitted, Manic Miner was inspired by Bill Hogue's previous 1982 game, Miner 2049er, but Smith was able to take what was a rather basic game and make it entirely his own. Clive Sinclair wasn't a fan of people playing games on his machines, but Manic Miner was almost certainly responsible for selling many thousands of ZX Spectrum computers.
